ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)
A relatively newer eating disorder characterized by an extreme avoidance of food due to sensorypreferences (e.g., texture, color), fear of choking, or a general lack of interest in food. Unlikeanorexia, individuals with ARFID do not have concerns about body image or weight but mayexperience nutritional deficiencies and significant weight loss.
