Binge Eating Disorder
Binge Eating Disorder is an eating disorder characterized by frequent episodes of consuming large amounts of food within a short period, accompanied by feelings of loss of control and distress. Unlike bulimia, individuals with BED do not engage in compensatory behaviors (like vomiting or exercising) to prevent weight gain.
How can the Registered Dietitians of Enhance Nutrition help?
At your first meeting, your RD will complete an in depth assessment of your health and eating disorder histories. At that time, your dietitian will give you clinical recommendations for your treatment plan moving forward. Your RD will help you move toward eating with adequacy, consistency, and variety to help decrease episodes of binge eating. Your therapist and dietitian will work together to help you develop coping skills for when urges to binge eat might arise. The end goal of treatment is to move toward recovery and intuitive eating.
